Funding available for community projects

Connect Day

The City Council -- through the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board -- is offering money to help fund community projects in our area. This is money that you might be able to tap into. The funding is offered under three headings:

  • Youth Development Fund
  • Discretionary Response Fund
  • Off The Ground Fund

The 2019 "Our Riccarton, Our Community, Let's Have Fun" day was a great celebration by and for the community. Beautiful weather, an amazing turn-out, a wide representation of cultures, and free food and entertainment made it a special day for all.

See below for a range of photographs taken during the day. (Click on an image to see a larger version.) And many thanks to Newell Grenfell, Hon PSNZ, for the photographs.

Congratulations to successful election candidates

Successful candidates

Congratulations to Catherine Chu, Helen Broughton and Gamal Fouda for their successes in this month’s local body elections.

Catherine is Riccarton’s City Council representative and also topped the poll for the Halswell-Hornby-Riccarton Community Board, while Helen has retained her seat on the Community Board.

Because Catherine has secured a seat on the City Council, she does not take a ward seat on the Community Board, and the second spot there has been gained by Gamal, who was was third in the voting.

Below is a table of how all the Riccarton candidates fared in the elections, and a list of all Christchurch election results can be seen by clicking here:
